Searching for right Online Marketing Media?

When we think about web marketing then many options comes in to mind like Search Engine Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, E-Mail Marketing, Newsletters, Blogs, Press Releases & many others. Sometime it becomes tough to choose the right marketing media. Isn’t it?

But I really feel that one media is there which is unavoidable & is on the top of the list i.e. Search Engine Marketing.

Now your question might be WHY?????????

“One all known fact is that search advertising is gradually eating into traditional mass media & offline advertising.”

A very big number of internet users have admitted to using search engines & spending their maximum time on it. Search engines are attracting the major portion of internet traffic (* 85% of all traffic on the internet is referred from a search engine) & more interesting thing to consider is the time spent on the internet & on search engines…

(Marketers & Advertiser should give a serious thought on it…they might be for sure!!)

I think the most significant part is the accessibility of search engines for all small, Medium & BIG advertisers.

The other considerable factor is the Timeliness; Search Engines shows Ads to people who want what we have or what we are offering to them. This actually increases the conversion ratio of our advertising efforts.

Now next thing comes in role: The way of advertising on Search Engines

Marketers & Advertisers have 2 options- Search Engine Optimization & Sponsored Links (paid Search).

Let’s discuss Search Engine Optimization:

As Wikipedia says

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results for targeted keywords.

Organic results are the search results appear on the left side of search engines for our search query.

So Online advertisers & marketers needs Search Engine Optimization as:

85% of all traffic on the internet is referred from a search engines.

Mainly users view only Top 10 results. 90% of all users don’t look past the first 30 results

Poorly optimized sites are unable to attract search traffic by not utilizing their market potential.

It is very cost effective & results are measurable. So ROI is measurable.

Now, we come to Paid Search or Sponsored Links; manipulation free & more transparent media.

Sponsored links appears on the left side of search pages (as shown above) & some times above & below the organic results also.

This is a cost per click model which ensures that the marketer or the advertiser get paid only for the genuine clicks made by the users. PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising results are easy to measure or calculate.

Advertiser gets the better opportunity to market the products to the most targeted segments. Advertisers have complete control over budget also. (There is no minimum spending limit for Google Ad words advertising). Advertisers can set their maximum spending limit for their advertisements.

So search engine marketing is the most popular media which connects the marketers to their clients; that too at the right time with low cost.

We can not control our organic listing but have power over Sponsored Links/ Paid Ads Ranking; provided the Ad is relevant.

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is a very transparent & measurable opportunity for advertisers & marketers.
