Ecommerce site comes in to picture when we offer online shopping facilities to our customers. But it is really terrible to have a site that doesn’t give conversions or sale.
I have seen many Ecommerce website offering a wide range of product but few sales.
With this post I am trying to highlight some common mistakes which abbreviate the ROI from an Ecommerce site.
Common Mistakes on Ecommerce Sites:
- Poor, old & unprofessional design: It can hurt the chances of building interest & trust in your visitors. (for more detail read Landing Page Quality Factors)
- Many sites overlook the “About Us” page: Visitors don’t want to purchase from sites where they can not get the information about the seller. About Us page is very important to create the trust by telling the user about yourself & your company.
- Company Information concealment: Visitors don’t trust those sites that hide the contact information from the visitors. You should always mention your company’s physical address, email ID, phone number, fax number etc. so that visitors can contact you whenever they find any difficulty or if they need any support.
- Help Section: Many visitors leave the site in between their transaction or just before the transaction if they are not able to understand the process & also could don’t find any help regarding the purchasing process.
- Very Short Product description: Many sites write only one or two liner product description which is sometimes not sufficient to compel the visitors to purchase the product.
- Why should buy from YOU: Why will anyone purchase from you without knowing the benefit of the purchase from you. Many website do this mistake by not mentioning the benefits of the purchase.
- All product range on one page: It reduces the size (the number of pages). Also, it is not possible to create the accurate & descriptive Meta tags in this case.
